Grove City Senior Living Honoring Veterans
Grove City Messenger
About 20 Grove City senior veterans, plus their spouses, will be honored at a special pinning ceremony on Veterans Day with distinguished visitors from the community and about 100 guests attending.
The ceremony will include the traditional “Taps” and singing of “God Bless America,” and honor those who have fallen.
The community is welcome to attend the event at Traditions of Grove City.
Many veterans who live in this community are seniors who served in various conflicts such as the Korean War, Vietnam War and Gulf Wars.
These include 98-year-old former Army nurse Rita Barnett. Rita served during the Korean War in the 1950s and helped dozens of soldiers returning from the Korean peninsula suffering severe frostbite to their fingers, toes and limbs.
Also in attendance will be 26-year Army veteran Kierra Horvath, a veteran of the Gulf War who came from a military family. Approximately 25 veterans live at Traditions of Grove City, and they and all veterans from the Grove City area are encouraged to attend the ceremony.

A “table for one” will remember all who have fallen.
